PFA Health Insurance

It is essential for TDC Net that you as an employee have the best conditions for resuming your everyday life as soon as possible if you fall ill.

As an employee with TDC Net, you are automatically covered by PFA Health Insurance if your average working hours total more than 9 hours per week.

PFA Health Insurance gives you access to quick examination and treatment at hospitals, clinics and by specialists. Normally, examination and treatment are initiated within 2 - 10 weekdays. 

TDC pays for your Health Insurance. You will be taxed on the price hereof through your salary statement every month, but the value of any treatment covered by the insurance plan is tax-free. However, Health Insurance for your children is at your own expense. If you are employed with TDC Telco Aps, other rules will apply. These rules will be stated in your employment conditions.

Quick help if you experience stress symptoms
You have access to quick psychological counselling if you experience stress symptoms. The faster you get treatment, the greater the possibility of limiting the consequences. Therefore, you do not need a doctor's referral. You simply contact PFA Health Centre, and then we will refer you to a business psychologist specialised in stress.

Online support from a doctor, physiotherapist, psychologist, family therapist and coach

Sometimes you may have a concern or an issue that you would like a professional help you handle, prevent and possibly treat. As part of PFA Health Insurance, you have access to Online Health Support via video call or phone call with a doctor, physiotherapist, psychologist, family therapist and coach. This way you can have any concern or issue clarified quickly – whether you are at home, at work or on holiday. 

 

Online Doctor
You have access to medical advice and treatment from a general practitioner. This service is also available to children under the age of 24 and any spouse/domestic partner.

 

Online Physiotherapist
You can get counselling and treatment for musculoskeletal pain from an online physiotherapist, e.g., for back pain, lower back pain or tennis elbow. Based on a medical assessment, you can get up to 6 consultations and this is also available to your children under the age of 24.  

 

Online Psychologist
 You have access to counselling and treatment from an online psychologist for exam anxiety, sleep problems, stress symptoms, sadness and anxiety attacks. Based on a medical assessment, you can get up to 6 consultations and this is also available to your children between 12 and 24 years of age.  

 

Online Family Therapist
 As a parent, you must have custody to get advice and guidance from an online family therapist to address challenges and concerns related to your children’s well-being and development, such as well-being at school, relationships, the digital balance at home and events in the family such as serious illness in the immediate family or divorce. Based on a medical assessment, you can get up to 4 consultations, and you can get a maximum of 1 course of consultations per year and a maximum of 6 courses of consultations while you have your health insurance. Online Coach
 With Online Coach, you can get advice and guidance on how to deal with life challenges and changes before they turn into distress and stress. For example, you can get counselling in connection with education, your first job and your career and life balance. Based on a medical assessment, you can get up to four consultations, and you can get a maximum of one course of consultations per year and a maximum of six courses of consultations while you have your health insurance. Your children between 15 and 24 years of age also have access to Online Coach.

How to use PFA Health Insurance

1. Contact your doctor

You always need to start by contacting your own doctor, who must assess your need for treatment and possibly give you a referral. This ensures that you will get the correct pre-examination and/or receive the correct treatment.

A doctor’s referral is not required if you need psychological therapy in connection with stress symptoms or treatment by a chiropractor, reflexologist or acupuncturist.

Treatment by a physiotherapist requires a doctors referral, unless if you choose treatment at TDC Net's in-house clinics.

  

2. Contact PFA’s Health Centre at (+45) 70 12 50 00

Treatment by a physiotherapist at one of TDC Net's in-house clinics can be initiated without approval from PFA.

Any other treatment and examination must be approved by PFA before it is initiated. Usually, you will get immediate approval. You will also receive a letter with the approval either by post or in your e-Boks. However, this does not apply to psychological therapy. In that case, the psychologist will contact you to set a time for the consultation.

       

3. Get started with examination and treatment

We will usually direct you to a treatment facility within PFA’s quality-assured network. 

Normally, PFA will settle the payment directly with the treatment facility so that you do not need to pay upfront and claim the payment back later.

Acupuncture and reflexology

Acupuncture and reflexology

PFA Health Insurance offers access to acupuncture and reflexology.

The acupuncturist must, in addition to a degree in acupuncture, also have a degree in healthcare as a nurse, doctor, midwife, physiotherapist or chiropractor. The reflexologist must be registered as an alternative therapist (RAB registered therapist).

PFA Health Insurance covers up to 12 treatments in total by an acupuncturist or reflexologist per year and per injury. Expenses up to DKK 500 per treatment are covered.

Treatment by an acupuncturist and reflexologist must be carried out during off-hours.
        


Substance abuse

Substance abuse

If you have a problem with substance abuse, you or a TDC Net substance abuse consultant can contact PFA Health Centre at (+45) 70 12 50 00. 
   
If relevant, you will be offered treatment for abuse of alcohol, medicine and/or other intoxicants. In emergency cases, the treatment can be initiated by contacting PFA Health Centre directly at (+45) 70 12 50 00 or at sundhedscenter@pfa.dk.

PFA Health Insurance does not cover gambling addiction. If you suffer from gambling addiction, you can get free therapy sessions at the Danish gambling addiction centre: CENTER FOR LUDOMANI – Ludomani.dk.  


Psychological counselling

Psychological counselling - also emergencies: call (+45) 70 12 50 00

Your health insurance offers coverage if you need psychological counselling.

Workplace misery (threat of violence, bullying, stress etc.)
Psychological counselling in connection with workplace misery can be initiated without a doctor’s referral or recommendation. You simply contact PFA, and then they will guide you through the next steps. You can contact PFA without involving your manager or TDC Net. If you need more than 5 hours of psychological counselling, you need to get a doctor’s referral.

Quick help if you experience stress symptoms
You have access to quick help if you experience stress symptoms. The faster you get treatment, the greater the possibility of limiting the consequences. Therefore, you do not need a doctor's referral. You simply contact PFA, and then we will refer you to a business psychologist specialised in stress. You can receive psychological counselling for as long as there is a medical need for treatment.

Emergency counselling (violent attacks, homicide, work-related accidents etc.)
Emergency counselling can be initiated without a doctor’s referral or recommendation. You simply contact PFA, and then they will guide you through the next steps. You can contact PFA without involving your manager or TDC Net. If you need more than 5 hours of psychological counselling, you need to get a doctor’s referral. PFA assesses whether the situation can be classified as an emergency. Simultaneously with emergency counselling, the insured will, if relevant, be referred to his or her doctor.

Private incidents (death, difficult divorce, a close relative is diagnosed with a critical illness etc.)
A doctor’s referral or recommendation is required. This means that your doctor has assessed that you have a treatment need for psychological counselling. PFA must approve psychological counselling.

Is it possible for my manager or HR to call on my behalf?
You must call yourself to initiate a course of treatment. PFA is bound by professional secrecy – also towards TDC Net.

In exceptional cases, your manager or HR can call on your behalf. Typically, you will be sitting close by, and the phone will be passed on to you for further dialogue. For example, if you are unable to make the call yourself due to shock or similar.

How many treatments can you get?
You can receive psychological counselling for as long as there is a medical need for treatment.

How soon can you see a psychologist?

Workplace misery
You will be contacted by a psychologist within 12 hours and offered counselling within 24 hours hereafter.

Emergency counselling
The psychologist can arrive at the given location within 4 hours. The emergency therapist on duty can arrive at the location within 2 hours.

Private incidents
The psychologist will call you within 12 hours, and you will be offered counselling within 24 hours hereafter on weekdays or the following weekday.       

PFA Health Insurance for children and spouse/cohabiting partner

Your children are automatically* covered by your Health Insurance. In addition, you can choose to take out PFA Health Insurance for your spouse/cohabiting partner to ensure him/her the same possibility of access to quick treatment in case of illness or injury.

Your children

Your children between the age of 0 and 24 are automatically* covered by your Health Insurance. This applies to your own children as well as your spouse’s/cohabiting partner’s resident children. However, any congenital diseases are not covered. The total price four your children’s cover is DKK 27.71 per month regardless of how many children you have. You pay for your children's Health Insurance through your net salary. You can deselect Health Insurance for your children if you do not want your children to be covered by the plan.

Please remember to deregister for the children’s cover when your child turns 24.

* If you are an hourly-paid employee with TDC A/S covered by the collective agreement with Dansk Metal, Landsklubben, your children will not automatically be covered by PFA Health Insurance. If you want your children to be covered, please complete and forward the registration form to TDC Net Payroll.

Spouse/cohabiting partner

The price of PFA Health Insurance for your spouse/cohabiting partner is DKK 2,350 per year, which will be collected directly from your spouse/cohabiting partner. However, for the first six months of the insurance period, the insurance plan does not cover any disorders that are directly or indirectly related to a preceding illness.
