PFA Health Insurance gives you access to quick examination and treatment at hospitals, clinics and by specialists. Normally, examination and treatment are initiated within 2 - 10 weekdays.

1. Contact your doctor if necessary
A doctor’s referral is not required if you need psychological therapy in connection with stress symptoms or treatment by a physiotherapist, chiropractor, reflexologist, acupuncturist or osteopath. You simply contact PFA Health Centre to have your treatment approved.
If you need any other types of treatment, examination or surgery, you, first of all, need to contact your own doctor, who can assess your need for treatment.
2. Call PFA's Health Centre at

Once you have seen your doctor, we need to approve the examination and/or treatment that your doctor has recommended* or referred you to. Usually, you will receive immediate approval. Examination and treatment must be approved by PFA before initiated. Additionally, you will receive a letter with the approval either by post or in your e-Boks. However, this does not apply to treatment from a psychologist, where the psychologist contacts you to arrange a time for the consultation.
3. Get started with examination and treatment
We will, as a rule, direct you to a treatment facility within PFA’s quality-assured network.
In connection with treatment by a physiotherapist, chiropractor, acupuncturist, reflexologist and dietician, you can select a practitioner or therapist of your own choice.
Normally, PFA will settle the payment directly with the treatment facility so that you do not need to pay upfront and claim the payment back later.

- Expenses for pre-examinations, treatments and re-examinations at hospitals, clinics or by specialists
- Psychologist (needs-based)
- Treatment by psychiatrists (up to 12 consultations)
- Chiropractor and physiotherapist (needs-based)
- Acupuncturist and reflexologist (up to 12 treatments in total)
- Treatment for gambling addicion (up to DKK 60,000)
- Treatment of abuse of alcohol, medicine and other intoxicants (up to DKK 132,000)
- Rehabilitation therapy (up to 12 months)
- Recuperation stay (up to 3 months)
- Medicine (up to 24 months)
- Dietician (up to 12 consultations in case of BMI above 30 or below 18)
- Temporary home care services (up to 3 months)
- Transportation
- Second opinion
PFA Health Insurance does not cover (not exhaustive):
- Chronic illnesses that have arisen before you were covered by PFA Health Insurance
- Cosmetic surgeries
- Glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids or dental treatment
- Treatment against childlessness
- Emergency treatments (for instance from emergency service and casualty - The need for treatment must have arisen during the insurance period

Quick help in connection with stress symptoms
You have access to quick help if you experience stress symptoms. The faster you get help, the greater the possibility of preventing stress symptoms from turning into a serious health problem. Therefore, you do not need a doctor's referral. You simply contact PFA and then we will refer you to a business psychologist specialised in stress.
You can take out PFA Health Insurance for your spouse or cohabiting partner and your children below the age of 24, so they get access to the same quick treatment.
At Rambøll, the children’s cover under PFA Health Insurance is optional and paid by Rambøll. As the children’s cover is optional, it must be actively selected, which means that it is important to remember to deregister the cover when the children reach the age of 24. If you wish to deregister the cover, please notify payroll@ramboll.dk of the change.
Your spouse/domestic partner and children between the ages of 24 and 28 can also purchase PFA Health Insurance at a favourable price. The health insurance plans for your family are paid for once a year via Betalingsservice (direct debit service).

Please note that any pre-existing illnesses and illnesses which have occurred as a consequence of a pre-existing illness cannot be covered until six months after the establishment of your partner’s Health Insurance.

As part of PFA Health Insurance, you can now get medical advice from a general practitioner via video, phone or email all weekdays from 8:00 - 22:00 and during weekends/holidays from 8:00 - 18:00.
The medical advice is provided by Hejdoktor and any spouse/domestic partner as well as children under the age of 24 will also have access.
For example, Online Doctor can:
Provide you with professional medical advice and treatment by phone or video
Answer questions via email within one hour during opening hours
Issue and renew prescriptions for you.

Select Online Doctor under Your insurance cover
Choose if you want a consultation by phone, video or email
If you choose a consultation by phone or video, you can decide if you want to make an appointment for later or wait in the queue and get an appointment within 15 minutes or sooner
The doctor will then call you
The doctor will send any required prescriptions, etc.
Generally, you can get the same advice and treatment at the Online Doctor as at your own doctor to the extent physical examinations or laboratory tests, etc. are not required. In addition, Online Doctor cannot issue prescriptions for addictive drugs etc.
