The new member of PFA’s group management previously held the position as Global Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking at Danske Bank. With a staff of 200 employees, Anders Damgaard was responsible for Danske Bank’s largest corporate clients, the bank’s financial and institutional clients as well as counterparties.

Henrik Heideby, Group CEO and President at PFA, is very pleased and also proud that PFA succeeded in attracting a capacity like Anders Damgaard to PFA.

“Anders Damgaard has extensive management experience and broad knowledge of banking operations, investments, financial products, risk, customers, sales and strategic advisory services. This means that we are even better prepared for the tough competition on the pension market," says Henrik Heideby.

Anders Damgaard has been employed with Danske Bank since 2001, most of the time with Danske Markets. Furthermore, PFA’s future Group Executive Vice President has a strong academic background. In 1998, he earned a PhD at Odense University where he subsequently worked as an assistant professor in Finance from 1998 to 2001. Also, Anders Damgaard holds a master’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from Aarhus University from 1995.

The job at PFA is a dream come true for the new member of the group management.

“This job is my dream job. Of course, something very special had to come my way if I were to make a switch from my rewarding job at Danske Bank – and that is exactly what happened,” Anders Damgaard explains.

He explains that the pension area is particularly important in his opinion.

“During my 14 years with the bank, I have had close contact with Nordic institutions and companies in a great many areas. I have always believed that pension companies play a central role in society. Ever since my student years, I have had a profound interest in investment and risk aspects. And, when I got the chance of becoming Group Executive Vice President and CIO at PFA, I did not hesitate to seize this great opportunity,” Anders Damgaard continues.

He is fully aware that PFA’s success during recent years makes the job quite a responsibility to take on.

“In my opinion, PFA is Denmark’s most fascinating pension company, among other things because it is large, independent and competes on commercial terms. That imposes very high demands on service, products, communication and in particular the investment return, which PFA has been able to deliver throughout recent years. I have been following PFA's very impressive development from the sidelines. I now look forward to becoming part of this development,” the coming Group Executive Vice President says. PFA’s new group management will consist of Anders Damgaard, Lars Ellehave-Andersen, Jon Johnsen and Group CEO and President Henrik Heideby.
